This is a personal portfolio site. I keep data collection to a minimum and try to be transparent about what little there is.
What this site collects
The only analytics tool in use is Google Analytics 4 (property G-ZVVCCBE5GF). When you visit a page, GA may record the page URL, the referring page, your approximate location (country/region), basic device and browser information, and a truncated IP address. IPs are anonymized via anonymize_ip before being stored by Google.
Cookies
GA uses first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish unique sessions. These are only written when analytics storage is permitted (see the next section). No advertising, retargeting, or third-party tracking cookies are used.
Consent Mode v2 — how defaults work by region
This site uses Google Consent Mode v2 with region-aware defaults:
- If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, analytics and ad storage are denied by default. GA still receives anonymous, cookieless pings so I can see aggregate traffic, but no cookies are written to your device and no personal identifiers are stored.
- Everywhere else, analytics storage is granted by default so basic visit counts work normally.
Because no advertising or personalization signals are ever used, and EEA/UK/CH visitors are always in cookieless mode, this site does not show a consent banner.
Opting out
You can opt out of Google Analytics for all sites by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also block third-party scripts or clear cookies for this domain at any time through your browser settings.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure App Service. Standard server logs (including IP addresses and request metadata) may be processed by the hosting provider for security, abuse prevention, and operations. These logs are not combined with GA data and are not used for any marketing purpose.
